“Be happy, do what you want,what you like!”. Am I the only one to think that it is not always easy being happy and to do what we want? Sometimes, the people around us don’t make it easy for us – because we live in a world where we can’t always think about ourselves only -(p.s: it is not an excuse though)
We all have different perception of what happiness is but I am going to share with you the things that make me happy and it should work for you as well; give it a try!
1.Don’t complain too much. Okay, I understand this is hard sometimes, especially when you are having one of those days when nothing seems to be going the way you want. The only reason why I think that this works is that it is something that is in your power, something you can control. YOU can do something about it: You just tell yourself that whatever is not going on right, does not imply that it’s the end of the world and if it’s something you can’t change, then why stressing about it?
2.Help others. This is my best remedy when it comes to finding happiness-or simply being happy – What better feeling than knowing someone is smiling because of you? Or have you ever been in a situation where you really needed help and wish someone could hear you and bring you comfort? Be that person for someone else. Let me tell you one thing, people don’t always want you to help them with money! Simply giving someone your time, listening to them, giving them an advice, opening the door, smiling, carrying something for them,… is a way to help. Don’t ever think you can’t help someone and trust me, doing it have made my days couple times and I have no doubt it would make yours too.
3.Sleep. This may sound a little weird but it is something that works as well. Sometimes, we are unhappy just because we are overwhelmed, busy and tired. We start being angry and to reply in a mean way. Take a few hours and go to sleep, just take a quick nap, and come back and tell me how you feel. Better, right? You will be more positive/happy and less sensitive.
4.Don’t take yourself too seriously. I have never heard or seen someone who claim to have never made a mistake in their life; we all do. If you make a mistake in your life, well, let me tell you this: it is fine. You may be like: ‘no it is not fine because I can’t change what I did and my friends will be made at me’,…But the whole point here is not to tell you that you should ignore what you did, no! You should just not let it ruin your day, month, life! Things happen and “your mistakes are experiences”. Take a deep breath and move on.
I really hope that by applying these few things into your daily life, you will start seeing that doing the things that make you happy is not as hard as people make it seem to be and that you will someway be happier in your life.
